Not quite sure where this idea came from, but it’s one of the best decisions I ever made.
This is better than hot mulled wine. Take my word for it.
This is somewhere between a slushy and a sorbet, so take of it what you will.

Recipe, makes enough for 2 glasses;

500ml red wine
3-4 tbsp sugar
1 cinnamon stick
4 cloves
1/2 tsp mixed spice

Method

  1. Add your wine to a small-medium saucepan on medium heat.

  2. Add your sugar and spices, then reduce the heat to the lowest, and allow the wine and spices to infuse for 30-40 mins.

  3. Once the wine has significantly reduced, leave to cool for at least 30 mins, then pour into an ice cube tray.

  4. Freeze overnight, then when ready to serve, blend all the ice cubes in a high speed blender until smooth.

  5. Serve with dehydrated fruits & a cinnamon stick.

Notes + Variations:

You can make this in much bigger batches too, if you have enough ice cube trays - just multiply the recipe up accordingly.
