This is kind of a random thing to make, and very pointless if you’re short on time, so only make this if you’re willing to do the labour, as they are pretty labour intensive & quite hard to handle.

You can bake these in the airfryer or oven too, just up the temperature if baking in the oven.

Recipe, makes 2 bowls full

THE CROISSANT CEREAL
160-200g pre-made puff pastry

THE EGG WASH
1 egg, whisked
Splash of milk

Method

  1. Roll your puff pastry out onto your counter, cutting the rectangle in half, to make another rectangle.

  2. Cut the rectangle into 3 long rectangles, slicing down the length of the pastry.

  3. Separate your 3 strips, then from the bottom, cut a diagonal line from one side of the strip to the other, as shown on the video.

  4. Cut diagonal lines down your entire strip, starting at the point on one side, to give you little triangles.

  5. Flatten out each triangle in your fingers, one by one, then brush with a tiny bit of water, rolling from the thickest end to the thinnest end to make a little croissant. Set aside on a sheet of baking paper, or foil, and repeat with the rest.

  6. Once you’ve used up all your pastry, add to your airfryer, baking at 160°C for 12-15 minutes, or until they’ve puffed up and started to turn golden.

  7. Pour into bowls, then serve as they are, or with milk.
